Disabling disc indexing



Disabling disc indexing in the operating system

1. Open “File Explorer” of the Windows operating system. Next, open the “This PC” section.

2. Right-click on the required device and open the “Properties” section.

3. A new window will appear. At the bottom of it, uncheck the option “Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties” and click the “Apply” button.

4. Select the “Apply changes to drive and all subfolders and files” option and click the “OK” button.

5. A window will appear to confirm this action. Click the “Continue” button.

6. A new window regarding access will appear again. Click the “Ignore All” button.

7. The process of disabling indexing of this disc partition will start, wait for it to finish.

8. Indexing of the disc partition has been successfully disabled. Perform the same actions with other drives.
