Black Market Bosses are going big with raids on ominous Boral island, which is now under control by the mysterious yet high-tech Murmur gang. Your task is to catch up as many technologies as you can from those zombie-puppets and drag your feet away from the island on the whirlybird!

Black raid

Added temporary game mode “Black Raid” — upgraded team PvPvE mode that we had last year with new visuals, lore and various new features. The mode will be available until December 4th (yes, we have decided to extend the event for a week after releasing the treailer).

For everyone who hasn't played Dead Man Marathon, we recommend you watching this video guide. We changed content, but the general principles are the same.

One of the main features is the new Ranked mode!

Ranked mode

Ranked mode will be available starting November 2 at 12:00 (GMT+3) for all the characters that have more than 100 play hours. This mode doesn't have Converts (zombie players), and teams can compete with each other at full strength with less randomness implemented.

At the end of the event, players achieve places in the leader board, which are tied to a certain rank. Depending on the rank achieved, participants will receive one of the following awards:

  • Chitin backpack that is obtainable for reaching the top of the rating (EU: Top 100, NA: Top 50, SEA: Top 20). The backpack will be exclusive until the start of Act II, and then will be available for purchasing by parts for Act II Tickets at the cost of a legendary item;
  • Transferable Elbrus Short Range Detector;
  • Aesthete Token;
  • 99% Barter Coupon;
  • Pack of masters attachments;
  • And also a bunch of anomalous serum, advanced spare parts, trade coins, Black Present cases etc.

Match ranking

You can find out your rating and qualify for awards of the corresponding rank only after passing the calibration, which lasts for 10 ranked games.

After the calibration is finished, each player gains certain rating points.

The amount of rating points received per match depends on the team's ranking, determined by the number of points earned per game.

After the event is finished (December, 4th) the player results will be summarized. Based on that, the players will receive awards, corresponding to their rank and rating.

Rating principle

The game points are received for completing certain tasks like clearing our camps, killing NPCs, killing enemy players etc.

There are extra multipliers that are applied for completing the main objective (+25% of team points) and evacuation (+50% of team points).

At the end of the game, a leaderboard of the teams within the match is constructed based on the teams' scores and the multipliers applied to them. The top half of the players gain rating, the bottom half lose rating. The closer the players are to the first place, the more rating points they receive, the closer they are to the last place, the more rating points they lose.

Players and teams ratings at the start

  • The higher your rating compared to all players in the session, the lower the multiplier of the rating you receive and the higher the multiplier of the rating you lose.
  • The higher your team's rating compared to all teams in the session, the lower the multiplier of the rating you receive and the higher the multiplier of the rating you lose.

So, based on your individual ranking, team relative ranking, and team position on the session leaderboard, you gain or lose ranking.

Black chips

Before the start of a ranked match, you will have the opportunity to bet Black Chips, which will give a multiplier to both win and lose. You can bet fiches only after the calibration.

You can bet from 1 to 3 fiches on each ranked game:

  • 1 chip multiplies the gained or lost ranking by 2;
  • 2 chips multiply the gained or lost ranking by 2.5;
  • 3 chips multiply the gained or lost ranking by 3.

For example, if the player has successfully completed the match, he will receive somewhere like +62 ranking points. In the meantime, their teammate who bet one chip before the start of the match will get +124 ranking points. In case of defeat, the former will receive -62 ranking  points and the latter -124 ranking points.

Ways to earn Black Chips

After the calibration is finished, the player receives 6 Black Chips.

Additional ways to obtain them:

  • Piece by piece for BM-checks in the shop;
  • Special Black Chips set in the shop.

The Black Chips sets can be transferred to another player or auctioned off. Accordingly, it is possible to purchase such sets from another player directly or through an auction.

A black chip bet refund occurs when a player who was not in the same squad as you during your match leaves the ranked game.

Using fiches should crank the adrenaline and emotion of the game to the max!

Restrictions for unsportsmanlike behaviour

In case of long inactivity, access to picking up the next games may be restricted, and precious rankings may be lost.

At first, the warning is given, but each following restriction will be stronger.

In case of premature withdrawal from the match, corresponding restrictions will also be implemented. The players that weren't part of the “intruder” team while using the match are free to leave the game.

Ranking abuse penalties

This time we tried to make the most competitive ranking possible, with very valuable rewards. We understand the sensitivity of participants to all sorts of dishonest players who will attempt to play unfairly.

Details on fighting the intruders will be published closer to the ranked mode launch at the end of the week and will be applied not only to the cheaters.

Shop changes

A page for each of the currencies has been added to the shop. On this page, you can find two tabs, “How to get?” and “Offers”.

The first one, “How to get?” tells you about the currency and how to get or spend it. For the convenience of players, we have also placed there the most popular offers for each of the currencies.

The “Offers” tab shows all the purchase options for a particular currency that are currently available in the shop. The desired currency page can be opened by clicking on the corresponding currency in the upper right corner of the shop.

Advanced case

The Black Market Advanced Case is now on sale, and with every opening, the player will receive not only a Basic Item, but also a Bonus Item.

In other words, the player gets two items per discovery.

Discounts on Black Market cases

There will also be special discounts on the rest of the Black Market cases during the Black Raid season event:

  • Elite case 12000 → 9490 (2510 BM-check discount);
  • Tactical case 12000 → 9490 (2510 BM-check discount);
  • Basic case 2500 → 1990 (510 BM-check discount).

Silent Scream

Added a reward for Season 1000 level — a unique Scream style for the OTs-14M Surge.

Explorer Bonus

Due to the start of the Black Raid event, for a limited time, the player will be able to receive up to 7 Explorer Bonuses per day instead of 5 previously.

Explorer Bonuses can also be gained for participating in the Black Raid event.

When playing as the Black Market operatives, you must survive the match for at least 5 minutes, complete the main mission, or successfully evacuate. You will receive 1 Explorer Bonus for completing each of these points.

When playing as a Murmur fighter, 1 Explorer Bonus will be granted for not leaving Boral Island before all Black Market units have been destroyed or evacuated. Moreover, you will receive 2 additional Explorer Bonuses for completing Murmur missions.

PIONEER-3 wide range detector

There's a new wide range detector in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone – PIONEER-3.

PIONEER-3 is a more advanced version of the popular SAK-2 detector model.

Remember that this scanner has been created for internal use by ZIVCAS Corporation employees, and any use by third parties will be sanctioned.

QoL changes

Added display of resources from personal storage to resource collection tasks.

Also added setting to display recipe status separately.

Note: If you have pinned the recipes before this update, to display the available resources, you need to open the personal storage once.

Balance changes

Heavy and light machine guns

Machine guns are not popular due to the difficulty in implementing them. High recoil and large penalties to movement speed affect them more than a large magazine capacity.

Now, both types of machine guns have received enhancements.

ASh-12

Recently, the ASh-12 has had difficulties competing with other weapons, which caused interest in the unique rifle to drop noticeably.

Very similar characteristics of the silencer and MBC are revised for diversity. The silencer now significantly reduces weapon spread, and the MBC better compensates recoil.

In addition, the weapon itself has received minor changes.

PPK-20 and TDI KRISS Vector

PPK-20 and TDI KRISS Vector allow the owner to shoot effectively from the hip, do not affect movement speed and have tremendous damage at close ranges. The combination of strong characteristics made these SMGs an overkill weapon, leaving too little chance for the opponents.
