Error at hooking API LoadStringA

If you get the “Error at hooking API LoadStringA” error message when you launch STALCRAFT, first try restarting your computer. That often resolves the problem.

If it doesn’t help, you need to enable DEP for all programs and services.

Switching DEP in Windows 11

1. Open the “Start” menu and go to “Settings” for Windows 11.

2. The System category will open. Go to “About” this System.

3. In the Device Features section, press “Advanced System Settings”.

4. The System Properties window will open. In the Performance section, select “Settings”.

5. In the window that appears, open the “Data Execution Prevention” tab.

6. Select the “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select” option.

7. Press “Apply” and restart your computer. The problem will be resolved.

Toggling DEP in Windows 10

1. Open the “Start” menu and go to “Settings” for Windows 10.
